After becoming mamas ourselves, we realized just how important it is to have a support system in place. It is hard enough during the first few weeks of parenthood to keep your eyes open, let alone think about eating healthy. Having a baby puts your body through many changes, as you know. It is crucial that you support your healing body at this time through proper nutrition--not only for your healing body, but for the baby you are nourishing. Post-partum, your body needs up to 1,000 extra calories per day. Therefore, having healthy, prepared meals and snacks ready for you as needed is very helpful.
